My first memories as a child praying is saying grace at school before a meal. My grandmother taught me about prayer and how important it is in my relationship with Christ. She explained prayer this way, “it’s a conversation with my Heavenly Father.” Some people do not pray because they feel they do not know the right words to use. You do not have to say the right words in order to pray. There have been plenty times I have felt like I prayed the same exact shallow prayer night after night because I felt like I had to pray something.
I learned if I pray expectantly, it changes everything with my relationship with Jesus. It does not mean if I pray for a red convertible I will get one, but it does mean God will meet my need and show me a way to provide myself with transportation. “Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). I pray expecting God will hear my cry, and it pleases Him.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God” (Colossians 4:6). So, have a little chat with your Heavenly Father and pray expecting He will do great things according to His will for your life.t you have received it and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). If I pray expecting God to hear my cry, it pleases Him.
Prayer changes everything!
